What is a Word Doc monitor?

A Word Doc monitor tracks changes in Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx files) hosted online. These documents are commonly found on websites offering:

• Academic resources and research papers
• Corporate documents and reports
• Legal forms and notices
• Downloadable ebooks
• Official announcements

Word Doc monitors track the entire document and alert you when content changes.

Set up a Word Doc monitor

1. Click Add Monitor and select Word Document

2. Paste the document URL (typically ending in .doc or .docx)

   Tip: Right-click a Word document link and select “Copy Link Address”

3. Click Save

Troubleshooting

If the monitor encounters a parsing error, you’ll see ERR_DOC_PARSE:

Click View details to see more information about the error, including a snapshot of the document URL when the error occurred.
